Explore Nhi Hoa Community Tourism Village in Vinh Long province
Just one month after officially opening to visitors, Nhi Hoa Community Tourism Village (Nhi Long commune, Vinh Long province) is becoming a popular destination attracting many tourists to experience and immerse themselves in the peaceful atmosphere of the countryside along the Co Chiem River.

According to the Director of the Department of
Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province, Nhi Hoa is one of the four
new community tourism villages in Vinh Long (after the merger of Tra Vinh and
Ben Tre). The community tourism village model is being implemented with the
expectation of creating a new and attractive destination for domestic and
foreign tourists.
"Nhi Long commune is the first locality in the province to introduce
community-based tourism after the administrative reorganization. Community-based
tourism is challenging to develop, and even more difficult to maintain, so we
hope that the villagers will work together to introduce unique products to
tourists," he said.
The community-based tourism model in Nhi Hoa hamlet is built on a closed-loop
service supply chain linked to each rural household. Here, each participating
household offers a unique, non-repetitive experiential product that
authentically reflects their daily livelihood.
Visitors to Nhi Hoa can directly participate in gardening activities, farming
life, folk games, and experience the peaceful riverside atmosphere based on the
unique ecosystem including betel nut, coconut, and pomelo gardens…
In particular, visitors can freely experience traditional dishes made by
individual households using clean, characteristic ingredients from the
countryside, such as kumquat jam, tapioca pudding, starfruit leaf cake, steamed
glutinous rice cake, fermented shrimp....
According to Dr. Duong Duc Minh, Deputy Director of the Institute for Economic
and Tourism Development Research in Ho Chi Minh City, the community tourism
model is positioned within a vision of green growth and sustainable development
based on three core values: symbolism, perception, and enhancement.
Nhi Hoa is not an isolated ecological space but a connected system, situated on
a convenient transportation route , facilitating more efficient access to
tourists, thereby unlocking the potential of agricultural tourism, and
especially creating sustainable livelihoods for the local people.
In Nhi Hoa, the locals are not just storytellers, but the living cultural
capital of this nearly 200-year-old village, which gives depth to the experience
and makes the community-based tourism model unique.
Visitors not only watch but also directly participate in activities, from
weaving leaves into shapes; blindfolded duck catching, laughter echoing on the
dirt field; collecting eggs from nests, experiencing the rhythm of rural life;
to the moment the boat drifts along the peaceful river, the calm water, the
serene scenery, time seems to slow down...
